Georgianna Grieb

December 8, 1941 – April 18, 2020

Georgianna Grieb was born on December 8, 1941.  For 48 years, she lived with and received services from the Emmaus Homes, Inc. organization.  She was a beloved member of the Emmaus family.  Georgie was funny and sociable; she liked going out into the community, and she had many friends.  She wanted to look nice, so she loved to have her nails polished and her hair done.  Georgie especially enjoyed bowling, shopping, eating out at restaurants, playing games, doing crafts, attending church services, watching television, and listening to music.  She was known for her soft voice, great smile, and big hugs!

Georgie was an independent-minded woman who cherished her routines.  She did not like being told what to do!  She especially loved her purse, in which she carried things that were important to her.  Georgie kept her purse with her at all times, and no one was to touch it without her permission!

Georgie most recently lived with Emmaus Homes in a home on Remley Court in University City.  She will be deeply missed by Emmaus staff and by her many friends.  We take comfort knowing that she now lives in God’s eternal love and care.

Agnes Williams

March 30, 1927 - April 6, 2020

Agnes Williams, born March 30, 1927, in Drew, Mississippi, to the late Willie and Carrie Simpson.
Loving sister of Jessie Mae, Willie, Gladys, Robert (her twin) and Uncle Herb.
Beloved mother of  Evelyn, Carolyn, Walter, Lamont, Rhodena, Cecil, Ora, Torrey, Jason, Ziva, Armand and Adrienne; our dear grandmother; great-grandmother and great-great grandmother of Amari

             Written By Her Children
Mama  grew up on a plantation/farm, where they grew their own food.  The only things needed to purchase was sugar, salt, pepper and flour.  When the great depression occurred (1930's), they had enough food to help others, of which they did.  November 25, 1944, Mama and her family moved to St. Louis, she was 17 and Uncle Herb was 14.  Mom had 13 children; you have to love children to produce such a big clan;  her children produced 18 grand-children; she had 21 great-grand-children and one great-great-grandson, Amari.   Honorable mention: Evelyn, Hashim and Chimanga preceded her in death, this was so painful for mom.
Mama was a generous person, she opened up her home to many people.  She gave to others even when she did not have enough for her own.  She took care of her children, she loved  all of her children dearly.  But the greatest love she had was for her God, Jehovah.  Moma was more than just a mother, she was determined to take care of her family.  "I don't care if I'm too old to have a hero because mom was my hero, she fought a good fight and she gave us plenty of her to love (from Jason)."
             Mama was Jehovah's "Precious Daughter."
                                                                                                       PRECIOUS DAUGHTER
Through all her tender years, He watched her grow.
Many the joys and tears, She would come to know.
But when she gave her best, And came through each test,
She made His heart feel so good.
(CHORUS)     Precious daughter, He’s so proud of you. Time won’t alter His love for you.
2. Hard work and sacrifice— That’s just her way.
Thinking of His advice Helps her through the day,
And she’s so glad to know That He loves her so.
It means so much to hear him say:
(CHORUS) Precious daughter, I’m so proud of you. Time won’t alter my love for you.”
(BRIDGE) Yes, Jehovah sees And Jehovah knows All the work you’ve done And the love you’ve shown. He won’t forget How you’ve loved His name For all this time.
(CHORUS) Precious daughter, He’s so proud of you. Precious daughter, He’ll be there for you. Precious daughter, He will care for you. Precious daughter, He loves you.
