Thelma L. McNail
Thelma Louise (Dement) McNail, 81, of Pevely died Jan. 28, 2016, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in CrystalCity.
Mrs. McNail was a homemaker. Born Jan. 31, 1934, in Redford, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Leona (Casey) Dement. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Lee Roy McNail.
She is survived by five daughters: Connie (Ross) Stretch of Dittmer, Betty Wosman of Pevely, Paula Caby of Arnold, Deborah McNail of Pevely and Jacqueline (Mark) Raspberry of St. Peters; a brother: Danny (Brenda) Dement of Steelville; three sisters: Velma (Norman) Bowles of Potosi, Norma (Bob) Buhler of Fredericktown and Rose (Bob) Forshee of Mountain Home, Ark.; 13 grandchildren: Kerwin Stretch of Nuremberg, Germany; Kristy Stretch of Dittmer; Kevin Finn of Arnold; Rheannon (Wes) Melber of Pevely; Jonathan Borchelt of Minot, N.D.; Aundreya Ottens of Arnold; Robert (Suzanne) Caby of Crystal City; Richard (Amanda) Caby of Pevely; Steven (Christine) Caby of Orlando, Fla.; Alishea (Caleb) Elifrits of Festus; Kyle McNail of St. Peters; John (Christi) McNail of Columbia; and Matthew Raspberry of Shiloh, Ill.; and 12 great-grandchildren: Ashtin Vessels of Cape Girardeau; Hannah Robinson of Pevely; Ricky Potter of Pevely; Isabelle and Emerson Caby of Crystal City; Jonathan, Aiden and Adelaide of Pevely; Dexter and Felix Caby of Orlando, Fla.; and Avery and Jacob Elifrits of Festus.
She was preceded in death by a son: Mark McNail; five brothers: Elmo Dement, Glenwood Dement, Stanley Dement, Harold Dement and Wayne Dement; a sister: Lucille Goodman; and two sons-in-law: William Wosman and Bruce Caby.
Visitation is scheduled for 10 a.m. and a funeral service at noon Monday, Feb. 1, at Sandy Baptist Church, 9331 Sandy Church Road, east of Hillsboro, officiated by Pastor Cody Alley and Pastor David Wells. Burial will be in Sandy Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Sandy Cemetery or to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Arrangements are under the direction of McLaughlin Funeral Home in St. Louis.
