Pastor James Anthony Johnston


James Johnston, of Morse Mill, was born February 16, 1942 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to the late Leonard and Thelma (nee Bowersox) Johnston and went to heaven on July 19, 2018 at the age of 76 years and 5 months.

He is survived by his wife Becky Jo (nee Hackney) Johnston of Morse Mill, Missouri, three daughters; Tambra Lynn (Steven) Wiley, Angela Dawn (Paul) Neuschwander and Christina Joy Johnston; four grandchildren; Sean Michael (Haleigh) Wiley and Sondra Lynn Wiley, Gretchen Ann Neuschwander and Maxwell Dutch Neuschwander; and one great-granddaughter, Vivian Mae. He is also survived by three nieces and two nephews; Christopher Pfyl, Tonya Pfyl, David (Amy) Hackney, Holly (Nathaniel) Rogers, and Suzanne Siler, two great nieces and four great nephews; Lucas and Hazel Rogers, Hannah and Ezra Hackney, Christian, Caiden, and Corey Siler, three sister-in-law and three brother-in-law; Barbara Pfyl, Ben (Phyllis) Hackney, Brenda (Ed) Siler and a host of many cousins.

Brother Jim was pastor of Morse Mill Baptist Church for 37 years, he retired in 2009.  He was still a member and attended Morse Mill Baptist Church. After his retirement he continued to preach part-time at various churches until his memory began to fail him.  He truly enjoyed telling everyone including strangers that "Jesus loved them and so did he."  He will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Services: Visitation will be held Friday, July 27, 2018 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Morse Mill Baptist Church, 6955 State Road B, Dittmer, Missouri 63023 Funeral Service will also be held at the church Saturday, July 28, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. Officiating: Pastor Gregg Fina

Interment: Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens

Alfreida M. Ferrell

November 4, 1922 - July 15, 2018

Alfreida Ferrell was born November 4, 1922 in St Louis, Missouri, the daughter of the late William O. and Lillie Mae (nee Hood) Deck. She spent her childhood and early adult years living in Lafayette Square. She later moved to South County, Shaw neighborhood and California.  Her last days where spent in St. Louis. She was married to George W. Ferrell who died in 1970.  She had two children; Jerald M. Sr., and Kristy Elaine; one brother, Floyd and one sister, Hazel. 
She was dedicated to her family, raising her children and working part time in the family hotel business and teaching tap dance.  After the death of her husband, she took full time employment at Monsanto Chemical Co's Queeny plant where her husband worked before his death.  
Alfreida was known for her generous and friendly nature and among the family for her drive and focus on the things most important to her; the well being of her family and enjoying life to its fullest.  She is survived by her son, three grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Harry Henneman

1936 - 2018

Harry Hennemann Baptized into the Hope of Christ's Resurrection on Sunday, July 8, 2018. Loving husband of 64 years of Judy (nee Lawson) Hennemann; beloved father of Richard (Vicky) Hennemann and Diana (Jeff) Walker; our dear grandfather, great grandfather; brother; brother-in-law; uncle and friend to many.

Harry Hennemann retired from Local Teamsters 600, he served as President of the State of Missouri Elks and was active in serving the Veterans of the State of Missouri. He enjoyed serving his community and helping everyone. He loved spending time with his family and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Barbara A. Aubuchon went home to be with the Lord July 7, 2018. Dear daughter of the late Harold and Patricia Aubuchon; beloved mother of Sonya Treis and Michael Fague; dear grandmother of Drake Estrada and Blake Patzius; loving sister of Vinita Sue (Billy) Swindle, Charlene Cheney, John (Robin) Aubuchon, Brenda Moore and the late James Aubuchon; our dear aunt, cousin and friend.

Barbara enjoyed being a caregiver, she always took care of everybody.  She liked boating, being on the lake and having a good time.  She  loved her family and friends.

Caroyln B. Benale

1992 - 2018

Carolyn went home to be with the Lord June 30, 2018. Beloved daughter of Russell and Penny Elliott; dear granddaughter of Gail Ritter. Our dear niece, cousin and friend to many.

Carolyn was very athletic, she was a 3 time state champion for the state of Florida for wrestling, and attended Missouri Baptist University.  She enjoyed going to the gym, hanging out with her friends, and she was devoted to her cat, Colby. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Joseph J. Zeitz

1940 - 2018

Passed away suddenly at home on July 5th, 2018 

Joe is survived by his wife of 48 years, Rita and cherished daughter, Dawn. Beloved son of the late Lawrence and Josephine (nee Perano) Zeitz; dear brother-in-law of Janet Cusick, Richard (Judy) Cusick and Wayne (LeeAnn) Cusick; our dear uncle and friend.

He loved traveling and being with his family, playing golf, watching and feeding his birds. Peanut butter treats were his favorite, he would put PB on just about anything. Joe was loved for his big heart and quirky humor.  He will be missed each and every day.

Jasper Henry (Arky) Warren

Jasper is preceded in death by his parents Jimmie D. Warren and Mary Alice (Nelson) Warren.

Jasper enjoyed fishing, hunting, teaching Sunday School and being with his family. He will br greatly misssed by all who knew him.

Larry enjoyed working and building things. He took great pride in his accomplishments. His heart was made of pure gold. He was a loving husband as well as a GREAT father. He was one of a kind. He will be truly missed.

Hazel L. Mary E. Schumacher went home to be with the Lord April 30, 2018 at the age of 82. Beloved daughter of the late Edward and Bonnie Schumacher; loving aunt of Carla Goodwin and great aunt of Noah and Donovan Goodwin; and dear friend of Joy Collins.

Mary loved flowers and decorating, especially at holidays. She was a wonderful host and enjoyed making everything festive.

1926 -2018


Catherine “Kay” R. Pecha, 91, passed away on Monday, April 2, 2018, at Atrium Post-Acute Care in Bloomer Wisconson.

Catherine was born on December 15, 1926, to George and Catherine (Ryan) True in St. Louis, Missouri.

She enjoyed playing cards and bingo, she also enjoyed having pot luck dinners and going out for breakfast. Most of all she enjoyed being a homemaker, mother, grandma and great grandma.

She is survived by her children, Robert (Barb) Pecha of New Auburn, WI, Steven Pecha of St. Louis, MO; grandchildren, Christie and Michelle; great grandchildren, Amber, Lauren, Liam, Alyssa and Mackenzie; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Roy Pecha; son, William Pecha; parents, George and Catherine True; siblings, Annie, Margaret, Lucille, Estelle and Rosemary, George and John.

Funeral Services will be held at 6 p.m. on Friday, April 6, 2018, at Schriver-Thompson Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. until the time of services on Friday at the funeral home.

Norman D. "Doug" Crites

1953 - 2018

In the arms of Jesus March 19, 2018 at the age of 65.  Born In Cape Girardeau, Missouri, the beloved son of Louise Monroe Jinks and the late Norman W. Crites; loving husband of Patricia (nee Bowman) Crites; dear father of Sarah (John) Elmendorf and step-father of David Warmoth; dear brother-in-law of Sue (Dave) Hallett, Kevin Bowman and Rick Bowman; our dear nephew, uncle, cousin and friend to many.

Mr. Crites retired from Chrysler after 30 years of service he was a member of the local 110 UAW, he then enjoyed country music, world traveling and animals. He was smart, witty and charismatic. Doug was always very generous and knew how to throw a great party! He will be missed by all who knew him.

Reverend Charles B. Thompson went home to be with the Lord February 28, 2018 at the age of 87.  Dear husband of Sharon Thompson; dear step-father of James (Kathleen) Kimbell, Mike (Tammy) Kimbell and Kay (Marty) Barton; our dear grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to many.

Reverend Thompson loved preaching the word of God, traveling,  watching westerns, and spending time with his family. He proudly served his country in the United States Air force and the Army.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Wanda treasured her time drinking coffee and talking with her friends, she also enjoyed watching her TV programs.  She took great pride in trying to keep all her kids in line and loved them all dearly, along with her church family at Apostolic Pentecostal Church.
